By using vacuumed ceramic particles (Ceramic Bubbles), the size of a few millimeter particles, NASA engineers succeeded in making the Space Shuttle withstand temperature fluctuations of more than 2,000 °C. This pioneering discovery, which, despite accelerations of several times the speed of sound, remained firmly on its foundation, and serves as the protective shield of the space shuttle to this day. In combination with an extremely adhesive binder, the “liquid ceramic plate” was born.
- After adaptation for civil use, the thermoceramic coating was further developed and enriched with other important properties for use in construction and residential construction.
