Eamon, who hired them, is a wonderful and true gentleman. He is the only reason this review is not 1 star, as he did his best to ease the pain caused by the electricians.
Now, the panels. I wouldn't recommend them if your house doesn't have BER A2 or higher-rated insulation. They are good at maintaining a temperature, but they are not energy efficient, so unless your house is a passive house, they can't be the only heaters. Also, they heat the house in a different way than other heating systems, and it affects the moisture level. This is crucial because in our house, we have mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, and before installing the IR panel, we had no condensation on the windows. Since the IR heaters were installed, condensation appeared on the windows when only the IR panels were heating the house. When the IR panels were only used to support the GAS heating system temporarily, the condensation disappeared again.
To support this review, I state that we bought our mid-terraced house in 2017 with a BER rating of C2, which we changed to B1 by 2022 with many improvements (the BER rating was established when the Solar PV panels were installed in January 2022). I designed the lights and IR panels shown in the photo. Each Bedroom had a central ceiling light that was removed, and a small timber-framed dropped-down ceiling was built with LED strip lights installed on the side of the timber frame. The dropped-down ceilings were smaller than the proposed Infrared panels, so the IR panels' edge hides the strip lights. The Infrared panels were fixed to these dropped-down ceilings.
Don and Eamon were excellent to deal with, expert advice with good common sense, careful design/sizing reflecting age/BER of house, consistent and professional right through design, supply, appointment of great electrician who was very careful to minimise impact/redecoration to house fabric arising from necessary cables installation.
I am extremely happy with the heaters performance, the aesthetic finish and in particular with the comfort provided in a period house and the excellent controller/regulater on App.
They are an ideal choice and partner extremely well with the downstairs air to air heat pump heating working extremely well maximising the benefits from the PV system, and all programmable/controllable from my mobile phone 100miles away .. brilliant!
Eamon was always very responsive and very helpful and the install team were so efficient and did a very neat install.
We are very happy to have a cozy home in the upcoming winter with no bulky radiators. The panels disappear into the ceiling with a 15 year guarantee we have great piece of mind.
